I first had this lovely aged white tea at the West China teahouse in Austin, TX on February 21st of this year. I found it unique and wanted to explore it more in-depth with my own equipment, so I bought a 50g portion from their website and tried it out today.
White teas are typically not my favorite. However, this one has a pleasant mouthfeel and does not become astringent if you follow the steeping instructions closely and do very short steeps. Smooth, even buttery, and fairly floral/sweet… like a berry. The wet leaves smell strongly like jam!
